Grief Doesn't Follow a Straight Line

Grief doesn’t come with a timeline, a checklist, or a right way to experience it. For adolescents especially, it can be difficult to understand why their emotions seem to change from one moment to the next, or why their grief may look so different from someone else’s.

Building Stable Foundations was created to give young people the space to explore those experiences at their own pace. By combining grief education with conversation, reflection, and meaningful interactions with horses, each session offers a different way to understand what they’re feeling, discover what helps, and recognize that moving forward doesn’t mean leaving the person they lost behind.
